Listmembers, We always need to defend our computers against viruses. Right now, it is essential that we remember to do so, because there are worm viruses circulating. Remember that, once opened, worm viruses get into an innocent person's computer and send randomly, forging the FROM: address. The innocent person who unknowingly opened the virus and activated it usually does not even realize what has happened. Remember not to open any attachments, unless you know that the person who sent it is sending that particular attachment deliberately. Even if it is from your sister or best friend, be sure that s/he intended to send that particular attachment - her/his computer could be infected, and unknowingly be sending you a worm. For the next couple of weeks (at least), I advise that you do not open ANY attachments that end in .exe, - no matter who they are from, or what they claim to be - that attachment that looks to be and says it is a Holiday card could very well be a worm. Go to http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/virus1.html and read what RootsWeb has to say about these viruses, then go to the other links off that page and read what they say also. If you have any doubts about anything you receive, ask someone at the RootsWeb helpdesk http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/help.cgi or join the virus discussion list - sub to virus-discussion-L-request@rootsweb.com Carol C-H <cch@netdoor.com> http://www2.netdoor.com/~cch/ If a problem can be solved, worry is unnecessary; If a problem cannot be solved, no amount of worry will help.
Hi listers, I am reaching Bulman and Smith in Jackson Co. AL My GreatGrandfather was James Franklin Smith b 1877 Jackson Co Al (Woodville area). His father was Andrew J Smith b 1853 AL , could have been a T. middle initial. Mother was Rachel Elizabeth Bulman b about 1860. I have just learnt that Rachel's father possibly was Thomas Lafayette Bulman b 1839 AL m to Serena Elizabeth Pence. His father was George Franklin Bulman b 4 Dec 1804 GA m Lucinda Hatchet b about 1804 in GA. I believe that Andrew J. Smith's father could have been Preston Smith b 1824 or Brooks Smith b 1800. Does anyone have any information on these Smith's. Or does anyone have and index to an 1860 Jackson Co AL census That can tell me where they are listed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Merry Christmas to everyone. Pat

Hi guys, I am researching a MULLINS family that was in the Paint Rock Valley area around 1880 to 1900. Catherine ??? Mullins, after the death of her first husband Jesse MULLINS, married a Mr. WRIGHT; and they may have resided in the Paint Rock Valley area. A son of Jesse MULLINS and Catherine ??? is supposedly buried in the Paint Rock area. His name was Jesse Frank MULLINS. He may have died around 1939. Another quick question---does the court house in Scottsboro have divorce records from around 1900? Michael Tucker Gadsden, AL
