This is taken from my local newspaper, The Dothan Eagle; Dothan, Alabama in the section of the paper called ... "Letters to the Editor". If anyone can help this patriotic person from Belgium, I am sure he would appreciate it. Ceya Minder ===================================================================== "Researching Veteran"... My name is Patrick Lernout. I live in Waregem-Belgium at about one mile from te U.S. Flanders Field military cemetery. As I am interested in the history of World War I, this cemetery has my special attention. I started to write a book about the soldiers buried here. So I am looking for as much information about all those men. I think wthat would be a great tribute for those young Americans who gave their lives for the freedom of our country. In the cemetery is a soldier called Private William C. Barlow of Co. F. 105th Engineers. He was from Ashford, but his mother lived in Dothan. He was killed in action August 27, 1918. Does anyone have information about him or some history, addresses or photos? William C. Barlow was the only Alabma soldier in the Flanders Field cemetery. Under here are the datea bout the Gold Star Mother. Contact me: Patrick Lernout Drafstraat 15 8790 WARGEM BELGIUM Tel/fax: 32-56-61-33-41 or by email: patrick.lernout@pandora.be
