<PRE>My aunt asked me to research this question. I am hoping someone in the Wiregrass area will have help to offer. Was there ever a dairy in the vacinity of Cottonwood that serviced the general store(s) in that area? My mother and aunt were there visiting family gravesites at Ramah Church about 20 years ago and heard the general store they remembered as children was closing. They went over to the site and bought some small momentos---including a wooden delivery crate from a dairy. The story goes that someone in the store told them it had been used as a checker board for many years there----long enough that their grandfather probably played on it too. That would move the date to the early 1900s. I won't have access to the actual crate for 2-3 months. Hopefully I can read a name on it. Can anyone help with history? Thanks, Linda
