It says his father's name was F-e-r-?-?-y Powell, (it is very difficult to read as it was handwritten), but the last letter is definitely a Y. No mother 's name is listed. Date of death was Sep 5, 1911, in Houston Co. and that his age was 30 (This would put his birth about 1881). It states he was born in Alabama, and was a farmer. He is buried in Ardilla, AL., but no name of a cemetery is mentioned. Could this be the same Fernie (Ferney)? I had an Aunt tell me that Benjamin's mother's name was Verna Ruth. Ever hear of her?
