Can someone help with this BEVEL family? In the 1910 census for Houston Co., ED #141, Image 19 of 34 in ancestry.com, there is the Lola BEVEL family as follows: Lola Bevel, Head, 42, GA, GA, AL Alma Bevel, Dau., 22, AL, AL, GA Mary Bevel, Dau, 20, AL, GA, GA Eddie Bevel, Dau., 8, AL, AL, GA After 1910, this family just seems to disappear. I can not locate them together or individually in the 1920 census, the 1930 census or any other marriage or death index for any state that I can obtain. There was one marriage record for an Alma Bevel who married W. G. Avery, but that's the only connection I have to this family. Thanks in advance. Don

This new book is the history of the family from Louis, John and Thomas Dupree. It follows that famous "Dupre Trail" and adds the newer generations. I know you will love this book!! It is 750 pages, all typed by Bill Dupree. Bless him! He has 40 years of research under his belt. One of Louis's grandsons, Jeremiah, was a Rev. War Soldier. Others were, too, but this is my line. He is buried in Andersonville Nat'l Cem. in GA. Several have used Jeremiah to enter the DAR. I have just sent in my papers. We'll see how that goes. How about emailing me at home rather than on these boards? It is a bit more private that way and we can exchange snail mail addresses which I wouldn't do on this open forum. Would love to talk to you more, especially since you still live in the area. Do you know from which of the brothers you descend? If it is John, then you are in Rev. Dupree's line and he will have a ton of info to share with you. He has plenty on the others, but since this is his direct line, I am sure he has more on that one. Look forward to hearing from you. Debbie

Do appreciate your sending me the Rev's e-mail address...I will contact him right away. Although I know that all of us Duprees are related, I really don't know anyone in Houston except have been contacted by some Thigpens in the past. My ancestors are directly "off the boat" from France in 1700....the original Louis (Loys, Lewis, whatever) actually settled within 35 miles of my home here in Franklin, VA (the area called Low Ground Road new Emporia, VA....actually was in Isle of Wight County, Brunswick County, and then Greensville County, Va without ever moving) and I just found out in the last couple of years. They eventually migrated to NC and apparently my branch didn't get much further.....although all the "cousins" moved on. Perhaps we can share info. Thanks again, Linda
