I talked to my Aunt that was raised in Wicksburg this morning. She said they once had a big building in Wicksburg (She went there) It was located across the road from Dr. Flowers Place. She said she was little and all she remembered it called was Wicksburg School, then there was once Kinsaul school.

He was the brother of my grandfather, Ira Newton Whitman, who lived in Opp, Alabama, and the son of James Whitman and Nancy Carmack. He had two sisters and several brothers, most of them who lived in South Alabama. His wife was Ethel Thomas, and they had children named J.C. (James), Ernest Lamar, Mildred, Shelby and Nadine. I'm currently doing some research on the 'James Whitman' family and would appreciate any information on Doc's family that anyone has. I have 'some' information on all of the siblings except one and would be happy to share any of it with you.
