I cannot find anything on Gillis Cooley. He just shows up. All I know is what I've seen on census records, and his say his father was born in NC, mother SC. I believe he is my Cherokee Indian link, but having difficult time finding records. If I come across anything that links to your Cooley, I'll most definitely let you know. There's another John Cooley in Indiana doing searches for Cooley's in FL. Anneta

Great site ---From the arsebast-l@rootsweb.com list--- I found a link from another site for old genealogy maps. Using the pdf format I could zoom pan and print these maps From as early as 1796. The site is not finished but has these date according to the front page: 1795 - Carey's American Atlas [60% complete] 1814 - Carey's General Atlas [100 %complete] 1822 - A Complete Historical, Chronological, And Geographical American Atlas [15% complete] 1836 - New Universal Atlas [100% complete] 1845 - Morse's North American Atlas [100% complete] Pretty darn neat maps. Cant wait to see the rest. I was sad to hear of the loss of a cemetery in Early County as this is where many of my relations come from. Can you tell me the location of this site? My ties seem to be mostly north of Blakely. Do you know of any Penningtons, Tysons or DeVanes that may have been lost at the Koone Cemetery? I sincerely hope that none of the people suffered damage from the hurricanes that have hit back there. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We had no damage from the earthquake that hit near us yesterday. I am still looking for information on the children of Franklin and Elender Jane (Lee) Peacock. They had a son John, born about 1861, whom I understand might be buried along with his wife at Mt.Gilead. There was also a son, Frank who was born about 1875. He was married and living with his wife and 3 children in 1810 or 20 in either Houston or Geneva County. Does anyone have information?
