    3. I think that all of these avenues can be good for ALHN because each one appleals to different people as the previous comments suggest. I do have a facebook page for one of my counties and it has over 7 thousand members. They continue to be a great resource for me. I also have a regional blog. Woodpress offers more options to create a more web page looking site, but Blogger is really easy for a begginer. Jim, I am really glad that you are here. I am not fond of the current format for Florida, but hopefully we can find a volunteer to take it. I also think having some information about getting started as a volunteer is a good idea. 3. I like the cold fusion ideas. I have the prg. But I fear my cd is rather old, and if it required a number to use it I cant recall. But for interactive pages, a template any one could use so others can write to a website. I have a form I wrote, it posts to a plain text page, its not a fancy form, but I found out it wont work on my domain. Maybe some one here might be able to tell me why it wont. I also have wrote a form for mail merge, people can fill it out and it sends to your email. I think interactive pages would be a great topic for those who don't want fb or blogs. I can host blogs and picture galleries. 3. Understood. But the same can be done with blogs and managed web pages where members can sign in. Don't have to be fb specific. Lots of people are very shy of fb. If one does reviews about fb and problems, its not a secret fb has a long record of problems. ----- Original Message ----- From: <jpowelljr@gru.net> To: <alhn-general@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, November 14, 2013 10:39 AM Subject: Re: [ALHN-GENERAL] Linking to blogs > Facebook definitely is a way to reward Volunteers with a "Good Job" and > allow competition among them for who can do the most this week &c. 3. Some things about color. Depending on how folks have their resolutions set up. Pages will view differnetly. Same with size and widths and lengths. Many people getting a pc dont even know there is away to set the screen. Also some colors just dont fit togetger. A person might view thier pages to see if they have stand out contexts. Font styles are another. Using non traditional fonts a viewer will not see it as intended some times because not every ones pc might have those fonts.then that pc will render its own version. I saw it using my cell phonen screen it was ok. 3. It is getting harder to find people who are willing to create websites and I feel that this is hurting our recruiting efforts. I already link to some blogs from my webpages, but blogs could serve as county sites too. Should we consider linking to blogs that are about the history of a particular are? Blogs are easier for people to create. I can think of several blogs that would be great additions to our sites. Cyndy
