Dear Henry County Researchers: In response to someone asking for titles of Henry County books, I'm posting a few below that have helped in my research. I'm also including a few titles that deal with Early and Clay counties in Georgia across the Chattahoochee. You may be able to order some of these interlibrary loan. Others you may have to go to Abbeville. The library there has a nice little local history room. 1. Hoyt M. Warren, Henry's Heritage, (Chancey-Herring Publishing, 1978). Seem to be several volumes of this published over many years. 2. Hoyt M. Warren, Henry--The Mother County, 1816-1903, (Warren Enterprises -- 1981). 3. Mrs. Marvin Scott, Henry County Cemetery Records. 4. Lynn Willoughby, Flowing Through Time: A History of the Lower Chattahoochee River, The University of Alabama Press, 1999. 5. Joel W. Perry, Some Pioneer History of Early County. 6. Collections of Early County Historical Society, Blakely, Georgia. (multi-volume) 7. D. Gregory Jeane, The Architectural Legacy of the Lower Chattahoochee Valley in Alabama and Georgia, (University of Alabama Press, 1978). 8. David Williams, Rich Man's War:: Class, Caste, and Confederate Defeat in the Lower Chattahoochee Valley, University of Georgia Press, 1998. 9. P.C. King, Jr., Fort Gaines and Environs, (Warren Enterprises, 1976). Sincerely, David McKissack -- family website at http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/m/c/k/David-Mckissack/
