Hello, I'm Mike Holland from Colorado Springs, CO. I have been researching my father's family in south Alabama for over twenty years but until lately it has been a struggle since there are at least two HOLLAND families in Henry County that (as far as I can tell) are not related. My father was Lawrence Cleveland Holland, son of Perry Cleveland Holland and Lena Chapman. He was born in Graceville, Florida but raised in Hartford. The surnames that I am most interested in are: HOLLAND, CHAPMAN, JACOBS, TRAWICK, MIOCK, ANTLEY My great great grandfather was John Holland who married Mary Ann Antley in Henry County, Alabama in May of 1859. He served with Company A, 37th Alabama Infantry as did his father-in-law Emanuel Antley. Neither survived the War, John died in Oxford, Mississippi on in November of 1862 and Emanuel died in Vicksburg, Mississippi on July 2, 1863.
