I am having some confusion with my Thomas Monk 1820 SC (I have his birth year as 1822 SC)? I have him married to Elizabeth Hamby born 1821 GA (I have 1829, GA), and family info thinks her maiden name may be "Hymkia" Could this mean Hamby? Was it changed? Then I have the name Gains nearby her last name on a sheet of old paper? Thomas Monk is the son to Lydia Kirkland and Joshua Monk from Edgefield District, SC. These folks tie into my Kirkland, Monk, Harrell, Hawkins, Evans lines that came from NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA, GEORGIA, TENN, ALABAMA. Just trying to clear up this confusion!
