    3. Hi All I saw someone post that the 4th Alabama came from Hilliard's Legion well actually I am not certain that is true. Hilliard's Legion from the time it was created fought in the Western Theater while the Fourth Alabama spent most of the war in Virginia. And all of the companies did not came from Southeast Alabama. Two came from Dallas two from Madison County, one from Lauderdale. Two from Perry County. Part of one from Marengo which is included in the one from Perry. The rest of the ones are from Macon, Jackson, and Conecuh. It was with Longstreet's Corps at Chickamauga, and Knoxville. The 4th Alabama was organized in Dalton Georgia May 2, 1861and it left straight away for the war in Virginia.
