To: Patricia Long Re: Divorces in Henry County, Alabama 1818-1868 Patricia. Is this book in each courthouse or did you copy these from a book in the Alabama Archives. Where can you get details of the divorce? Does anyone know if the Henry County, Alabama Courthouse will still let you photocopy things. The last I heard they were denying all requests? Champion Brainard. She is the mother of Captain Henry J. Brainard, CSA, from Henry County, Alabama. After this divorce, she married Benjamin Manly of Henry County, Alabama and she is buried with him and her parents in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery (now deep in the woods); but, on a side road between Scottsboro and Lawrenceville--this was once a main road. She was the daughter of Henry Champion and Mahala Miller, who are also buried in Mt. Pleaant Cemetery. Amanda M.
