    3. It appears from what I have found Typhoid Fever was in Alabama even during the War Between the States. Apparently this is often caused by contamination. Winnette This query was found on the Morgan Co. Al website. Query 029 [email protected] 4/10/2003 NEWTON/WALKER I have just learned that the daughters of my grandfather's brother, William Riggs Newton who died in Tenn. from typhoid fever in 1915, were living with their guardian Ella Huddleston Walker whom I believe was a sister of their mother Mattie J. Huddleston Newton, and in 1916 she petitioned for their monies to be transferred to Morgan Co., AL where they were living. The daughters names were Mary Caroline Newton born Sept. 2, 1902 and Tommie Allen Newton born Sept. 8, 1906. I have no further information, but hoping I might find some cousins from this line. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
