He was born about 1824 in South Carolina, died 24 Apr 1888 in Texas. He married Faraby Oates about 1847 in Henry County, Alabama. Faraby, the daughter of Carraway Oates and Catherine Skinner, was born 11 Sep 1830 in Alabama, died 18 Dec 1905 in Texas. Henry Seaborn and Faraby Oates Stokes were in Henry County on the 1850 census, and in Polk County, Texas in 1860, 1870 and 1880. Bill
Bill, Catherine Skinners grandad was Benjamin Skinner that came to Darlington County, SC, Stokes Bridge area and a lot of Stokes came also, hence the name Stokes Bridge. Catherines dad was Nathan that went to Henry County Al. I have not researched the Stokes but there is lots of them buried at Hebron Cemetery, Stokes Bridge, Darlington County SC. Catherines uncle, Edward is believed to be the one that gave the property for the Cemetery and the Church. Carl B.
