I am helping a friend start their genealogy; and, all I have to go on is... "...there were two brothers (spelled their names McCallister) who came to this area (Henry) by early 1880's; they were land owners'; they had an argument over a horse; and one of them got mad and moved to the Slocomb area and changed their spelling of their name to McAllister." I wish I had more to go on--like 1st names, etc. but, that is all they could tell me. They did say that someone came to the Columbia area in the 1970's and gathered information on these families and published a book.
