I am in search of Mary ARMSTRONG Birth-date: 15 May 1856 Birthplace: unknown Death date: 02 August 1922 Place of death: Lafayette County, Florida Buried at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery, Lafayette County, Florida Mary ARMSTRONG appears first on a census in Lafayette County Fl in 1860. She was but a child, listed as age 9, and was a servant. She later married James Walker, and was my g-g-g-grandmother. There is nothing known about her birthplace, although Ga, Al, and Fl are all given. Later census suggests she may have been born in 1850.... At any rate, what caught my eye was that her first child was named William Clayton ARMSTRONG/Walker. He was born prior to the marriage, but always used the Walker name, as James Walker was his father. There are numerous connections from Henry County to this family in surnames...Trawick, Brown, Best, Hewitt....Like I said, it is indeed a long shot, but wondered if there were any more Mary Armstrongs in this line.
