My ancestor is Martha H. Harris of Laurens CO, SC who married James Noble(s). Both died in 1835 but they had 12 children and many ended up in Henry CO by 1837. On the 1840 census, John H Nobles is living next door to a "C Harris". Further down the page, there is a "John Hanes or Harris" and an "Edward J Harris". Does anyone know who these Harris men are? Where are they from? What happened to C Harris after 1840? I suspect that maybe these Harrises are kin to my Nobles line. In 1860, a William W Harris had James Nobles, age 20, living at his residence. William's wife was Nancy Fears, who would be James Nobles' aunt (James Nobles parents were Lewis M Nobles and Margaret "Peggy" Fears, sister of Nancy Fears). I am wondering if this William Harris was also a cousin of James Nobles. I am also wondering if the "C Harris" is Charles Harris, possible father of Martha Harris who married Henry T Adams of Henry CO. Their first son was named Charles Harris Adams. Thank you in advance.
