Rex, Was Gatsey Ann Pellum born in Barnville District, South Carolina or actually in BARNWELL District? This is where the Zorn family that settled in Barbour County came from around 1830. Locally today, the folks of Barnwell County pronounce it as "Barr-null" County. Also, is this Carr family mentioned here of the same Carr family from the Mt. Enon Primitive Baptist Church area in Edwin, Henry County, just south of Bakerhill in Barbour County? Now my question is - directing myself to your memory - what, if anything, do you have tucked away there about the McClenny family? My grandfather William Cloe McClenny was born in Henry Co in 1886. His father was Thomas Charles McClenny, br 1849 Barbour Co. Mother was Sarah Catherine Carr, br 1854 Barbour Co, mar 1871 Barbour Co; Thomas' dad was David McClenny br 1816 Johnston Co, NC who married Gatsey Ann Pellum br 1821 Barnville Dist, SC, mar 1841 Fayette Co, GA, then moved to AL and between 1841 and 1850 had seven children, six of whom were daughters. They are the ones who have eluded me. Any information will be very much appreciated. Her name was Eliza Jane Clenny. Her parents were Reuben and Rebecca Galloway Clenney.
