Steve, This post about Elizabeth Coleman Glover Cole is an example of what we miss when you're not online. Thank you for sharing this story. .......betty vann p.s. At one time during the 1800s I believe my Lane ancestors lived in the Camp Springs community, and I think Thaxton Whiddon preached at the Camp Springs Baptist Church in the early part of his ministry in the 1950s.. I'll try to remember to share this story with him and his wife. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, November 23, 2005 7:12 PM Subject: [ALHENRY] Re: Elizabeth Coleman Glover Cole > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Glover, Cole > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YS.2ADI/2819.1 > > Message Board Post: > > I am a descendant of John Pinkston "Pink" Glover. I have heard stories about the death of Elizabeth Coleman Glover Cole. She was living in Florida at the time and was returned to the Camp Springs Community of Henry County for burial. This was in the late 1800's or the earfliest 1900's. She was a Methodist by faith. Some of the leaders of the Camp Springs Missionary Baptist Church would not allow her body to be brought into the church for a funeral. The day was dying and the funeral was held by latern light under an oak tree. J. P. "Pink" or "Pinky" Glover and wife Nancy Day are buried here as well. There is no marked grave for E. C.G. Cole. This is all I know. I do not have internet service at my home and am just visiting with a friend who does.
