Dear listers, When researching your Henry County Armstrongs, please realize that there are TWO lines. So far I've not connected the two. One line is that of MOSES & ELIZABETH ARMSTRONG and the other line is that of GEORGE H. ARMSTRONG. The family of George H. is found in Henry Co. in 1830. By the 1850 census his wife may be deceased. The first female on this census was Syany (?) who was 33 yrs. old born in NC. The other children are John W., Mary I, Sarah A., Elizabeth E., Thomas, and Joseph. The other Armstrong line is Moses. I descend from this line. The only children that I can positively say belong to this line is Hiram, maybe Travis, Wade, Martin and possibly Matthew. The daughters are Winifred & Sarah. I descend from Wade Armstrong who married Cynthia Kirkland in 1837 in Henry Co. Moses and his family arrived in Henry County on or about 1824. The first record documented in Henry County is the marriage of Hiram to Margaret HELTON. So far I've not separated all the Armstrongs but in researching them, don't put them all in one line.
