    2. Hi Ann, Thanks! I came across an article in the Ashford Centenial Book 1891-1991 and was wondering if this Parrish was of any kin. Ashford Centenial 1891-1991 Pg. 9 There is a picture of J.C. Parrish. Underneath it states: Principal of Ashford High School from 1925-1941 The article also states that he died in 1941. Sandi Hi Sandi, this is what I have on James: James Washington Parrish son of Roger Parrish was born 1823 South Carolina died about 1860 in Henry County, AL. James married Mary F. Mareman Jan 1, 1844 Henry County, AL. Mary was born in 1826 in Alabama. One source says James Washington Parrish's mother was Caroline V. Lansdale. Another source gave his mother as Anna. His father was Roger Parrish who was married 4 times. I have the same 4 children you have: 1. Eliza J. Parrish born 1845 married Louis "Lewis" "Luke" Jordan. Luke Louis Jordan was born abt. 1829 in N.C. He had a brother named Frank J. Jordan who was born on Nov 4, 1847 also in N.C. They migrated down to Woodville, Alabama (which became Henry then Houston County) between 1850 and 1860. They are both buried at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Pansey, Houston, Alabama. 2. John W. Parrish born 1847 married Nancy. 3. Augustus Parrish born 1850 died before 1860 4. 3. I am helping a friend start their genealogy; and, all I have to go on is... "...there were two brothers (spelled their names McCallister) who came to this area (Henry) by early 1880's; they were land owners'; they had an argument over a horse; and one of them got mad and moved to the Slocomb area and changed their spelling of their name to McAllister." I wish I had more to go on--like 1st names, etc. but, that is all they could tell me. They did say that someone came to the Columbia area in the 1970's and gathered information on these families and published a book. If anyone is familiar with a McCallister/McAllister book, please tell me the name of it. If Maurice McAllister is on this list, please contact me. Ceya Minder Dothan

    1. [ALHENRY] Hilliardsville Community
    2. Hello! Everyone >From reading information from the "ALHENRY" e-mailing list, I've found that many of you have a wealth of information on the history of the Henry County, Alabama area. I wondered if you may have information on the Hilliardsville Community dated back during the early 1800's to the late 1890's. I'm trying to do research on my family and I found that back in 1880 my gggrandparents, Rubin and Gracie Walker lived in Hilliardsville. I found from an old Atlas Map information that there was approximately 76 inhabitants in the Hilliardsville Community at that time. Hilliardsville was located in North Henry County and I found a Hilliardsville historical marker located near the Liberty Church. So I am trying to find anything I can on the area. Any information, recollections, pictures, reference materials that you know of that can be obtained is "greatly appreciated". Thanks!!!! Ann Atkins

    3. YES! Holmes Co is directly below the Georgia/Alabama state line with Bonifay as its principal town and county seat. I also have relatives in that area as does my wife whose grandfather, William James ALLEN, was born there in the late 1890's. che-ers BB On Mar 14, 2007, at 9:19 PM, Le Bateman wrote: > Is Holmes County FL in the NW area of Florida? 2. Hi! This Armstrong is related to Moses Armstrong and I do show a relationship to Albert and Talbert Parrish. :-) Roger Parrish (Albert and Talbert's father) was John Robinson Parish's great-grand uncle. John Robinson was married to Ella Alice Culpepper, Moses Armstrong's great-granddaughter. Nicey Armstrong was Moses Armstrong's granddaughter. Nicey was married to Micajah Culpepper and their daughter was Ella Alice Culpepper. John S. Culpepper who married the Strickland is Micajah Culpepper's nephew. Ann, give me your email address and I'll send you pictures! My email is shannona@triad.rr.com Shannon ----- Original Message ----- From: ApalacheeB@aol.com Date: Wednesday, March 14, 2007 10:56 pm Subject: Re: [ALHENRY] Armstrong/ Parrish To: alhenry@rootsweb.com > > In a message dated 3/14/2007 10:23:27 P.M.
