Anyone who had access to Henry Co. Marriage records. Several people replied stating that there is no record of the marriage there, so I guess that eliminates that possibility. Thanks, Steph
Thank you for checking...I guess that eliminates one more possibility! Sincerely, Steph

I have been tracking down my ADAMS/LEWIS surnames in the Wiregrass area and have finally found them. Here's the ADAMS I'm looking for.....James C. (b 1797) and Elizabeth ADAMS (b 1792) removed from Twiggs Co., GA to Henry Co., AL before 1860. Have found only him and one son so far in Henry Co. John William ADAMS (b 1832-34) married Julie/Julia whose maiden name may be CHITTY. John W. ADAMS died in the Civil War of measles. By 1866 Julie and children are in Dale Co., AL around Asbury/Echo. Their children are: Charles Franklin Adams b. Jan 1856 James H. Adams b. Oct 1857 William Adams b. 1859 Mary Adams b. 1859 (may be twins) Sarah Elizabeth b. Jan 1861 This family is found in these 3 counties finally in the Taylor area in 1900. Sarah, nicknamed Betty, married Thomas Green LEWIS (b. 1859)in 1880. Thomas Green's father was Charles LEWIS, mother was Eliza Ann WINDHAM...mainly found as Ann LEWIS in the Asbury area. Charles' father was William LEWIS. They settled in Dale Co. in 1838 from first SC then Jackson Co., Florida. Charles LEWIS also died during the Civil War from a sickness. William LEWIS' sons were Green, William Jr., & Charles. His wife and daughters are unnamed at this time. Green's family is mostly in Geneva Co. I have more information on the sons of William if anyone is researching this family.
