    3. Hello Can anyone tell me where I can find a history of the Alice Hotel. There is a referrence to the Alice Hotel in the Headland Centennial Book. My secondgreatgrandfather had it built, I was told by family members, as a wedding gift for his wife Martha Alice Reynolds. This is where mother's grandfather lived while he was growing up. Also does anyone know if the Henry County Historical Society has started up again. I had been a member while Rebel Bill Nordan was living but that was in the late 1980s and early 90s. I know when he died in 1996 it became defunct. Le ________________________________________________________ NetZero - We believe in a FREE Internet. Shouldn't you? 2. I liked the Best Western - Abbeville Inn. Was there mid June and stayed for two days in a double room for $103.68. Thought that was a very good price. Also, it is next to a Hardee's and across from the only lunch restaurant in town. It is on Hwy 431. Ph # I have is 334.585-5060. Hope this helps. Kt

    1. Re: Hamilton Families
    2. Virginia, I was reading your post and since I have the Randolph Co., GA marriage index I looked up your Mary Ann Hamilton. I can only find a Marion Hamilton m. to Archibald Peterson on 15 Sept1850. Also, there is no Ira listed under the male Brookins or alternate spellings and no Brookins/Hamilton marriage listed. Did you check Henry Co or neighboring counties? I checked Early Co also and no luck there. There is a James Hamil m. Eliza Ann Bledsoe 13Jan1848. The Hamilton males listed are: Alexander L.(Dr.), Charles, Eugene, John A., Thomas J., Whiteley (colored). Possibly Hamil was cut off or not finished. Let me know if you want any of these. Teri

    1. Hamilton Families
    2. Josie, sorry I can not help with your Ashley Hamilton. Do you have a James Hamilton born about 1830 in your database? James Hamilton's sister, Mary Ann Hamilton born April 11, 1832 - died February 18, 1893. Mary Ann married Ira Brookins about 1852 in Randolph Co., Georgia. On June 26, 1852, Ira made a land purchase from John Peterson. The witnesses were Malcom Peterson, Ely Cooper, and William Johnson. Ira Brookins and William Johnson are listed as students in the household of Owen H. Davis, school teacher, in the 1850 Randolph Co., GA Census. In the same census in the household of James Peacok, there is a listing of Mary Hamilton. I am wondering if this Mary is "my" Mary Hamilton b. April 11, 1832. Any help on any of these names, will be greatly appreciated. Virginia ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it.
