I am seeking information on the Nelson Thompson family. Nelson Thompson m. Georgian Barber in Henry County on 16 April 1867. I believe that she is the daughter of Solomon Barber and Nancy Lynn Barber. Anyone related to this family? Either Georgian or sister Mary Ann Barber lived to be nearly 100 years old and would have died c 1938. Some of the cousins remember going to see her on her birthday but they do not recall her married name, only that her half-brother (their grandfather) took them. Thanks for any leads. Barbara
Thanks for the information, but when I went to Family Tree Maker and did a search, it came up with James Monroe Keels Henry Co. Al Queries, Marriage and parents of James M. Keels and Elizabeth Keels. I cannot found them any where else. If you or someone can help me it you be greatly appreciated

Patricia, I have county maps with the cemeteries (my husband and I have spent a lot of time in several of those cemeteries, 'diggin' up bones'). I have searched the Houston Co. and surrounding county maps for your Prospect Cemetery, and can not find it. BUT: Just north of Dothan, off 231 (going toward Grimes, Napier Field), just as you cross into DALE Co. there is a church/cemetery, that has no name (that I can find, on my map), even putting the two maps together, where the counties meet, I find no name on this cemetery. Some one out there (that lives in that area) may know what this church/cemetery is. My husband and I spent a couple of months looking for a church/cemetery that was suppose to be in Henry Co., only to find just last weekend, it was a matter of 'feet' across the line into Barbour Co.!!! Often when they listed these cemeteries they didn't realize they had 'just crossed over into the connecting county'! Just a thought and hope it helps! Patricia, There is a Prospect Church and Cemetery in Henry near Edwin, but doubt that is the one you are looking for. Have you considered that what was near Dothan in 1916, would be in Dothan today? I have heard of and looked for a Prospect in Dothan. I know its there, just cannot find it. If you do find anything, please let me hear about it. Thanks, Homer

Does anyone on the list know of a Prospect Church and cemetery that was near Dothan in 1916? Have someone whose death certificate says he was buried in Prospect cemetery. Evidently the name has been changed from Prospect to something else. I can't find a Prospect Church at all in Henry/Houston that will be close to Dothan. For those that may have been searching for POND BETHEL (METHODIST) CHURCH CEMETERY--that was listed as being in Henry Co. After searching for it for awhile, finally found it in BARBOUR Co. AL, (located off CR 75, about a mile north of the Henry Co. Line, there is a dirt road named Pond Bethel Church Road to the left). The little brick church & cemetery is about a 1/2 block once you hit the dirt road. SURNAMES (buried there): GRIFFIN (I believe mostly relatives of Bryant Glen GRIFFIN), CREEL, ZORN, BRYAN, McKLEAN, HARTZOG, WOODHAM, WOOD, LEWIS, LOCK, PARMER, SEARCY, TEW, ADAMS--just to name a few. Just wanted to pass this along, for those that have been looking for Pond Bethel Cemetery! Linda
