    3. Sharon, There very well could be Cochrans buried at Pond Bethel, but since I only copy those males, born 1808- 1850, I very well could have missed them. The following are the lines found there: Bateman, Hartzog, Zorn, Searcy, Lee, Griffin, Wood, Williams, Lewis, Stuckey, Shearley, West, Bryan and Condrey. Deo Vindice, Homer

    3. Thanks to Homer for info on Zorns. I think one of the Confederates is Dennis Harrison Zorn, my great-great-grandfather. Winston Skinner

    3. Homer, Thanks for getting back so quick! Oh well, I was in hopes you had my answer. Yes, Bryant's birthdate is in question, one of those 'who is right'? If the headstone is right then he was the eldest son of Thomas and Nancy Stewart GRIFFIN, guess that answer will come someday! If you ever run across any military info for Bryant Glen GRIFFIN, please keep me in mind! Thanks, Linda

    3. Homer, I just posted this question on the Barbour Co. page (to Steve Elliot or you), but will ask it again here! In your veteran info, do you have Bryant G. GRIFFIN on that list? The reason I ask, at the foot of his head stone is a CSA Plaque, it reads: [W.B. GRIFFIN, Pvt. Co. E, 1 BN AL Vols. Confederate States Army], a different name--? I don't have Bryant's military info, I know that would help! Just wondering why the name was different? Any help you could provide would be appreciated! Thanks, Linda

    3. Jeanette, South from Bakerhill AL, take CR 131, about 1 1/2 miles, turn off on CR 75 go about 3 miles, there will be a dirt road to the right (named Pond Bethel Church Road), within a half a block or so sits the little red brick church (Pond Bethel Methodist), and the cemetery sits behind it. Some of the surnames: GRIFFIN, CREEL, ZORN, BRYAN, HARTZOG, WOODHAM, WOOD, LEWIS, LOCKE, PARMER, MCLEAN, LEE, TEW, ADAMS, BAKMAN Hope this helps, Linda > -----Original Message----- > From: JCrane6990@aol.com [mailto:JCrane6990@aol.com] > Sent: Tuesday, October 19, 1999 8:01 AM > To: ALHENRY-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Pond Bethel Cemetery > > > Will someone please post where the cemetery is located in Henry > County. 3. Linda, Sorry, afraid I can't help; went back and checked ny survey notes and all I had copied was that information from the Confederate marker; I guess I must not have been paying attention. I don't have a muster roll for the 1st Ala Vol so cannot verify one way or the other. His b. date on the marker is Oct 10, 1827 but a descendant told me it was 1832; may have been you; he was the son of Thomas and Nancy Stewart Griffin; m. Elizabeth Mclendon, you may have given that to me also, don't remember. Sorry I couldn't help Deo Vindice, Homer

    1. Looking for Lynns, Barbers, in Henry CO: Atten Bob Hartzog
    2. Bob, Am eagerly awaiting the Lynns you have. I am from three Lynn daughters of David and Lucy Kinsey Lynn. They married into the Barber family and were in Henry CO in 1860. Some of them stayed and some relocated to what is now Seminole County, GA. Nancy and Susan Lynn both m. Solomon Barber and Lucy m. a Brown but I don't think that she ever lived with him. She and the children all were known as Lynns. I have a picture of a Charles Lynn in Confederate uniform. I am thinking that he is probably Charles Berry Lynn, son of Lucy. I am thinking that Nancy Lynn Barber may be buried in Henry or Houston County, AL. I have not been able to find her. Barbara Researching Lynn, Barber, Jernigan

    3. Peggy, The name of the town near Panama City which you refer to is Wewahitchka, Fla. and it is in Gulf county. It is pronounced just as it is written. Though most locals there just call it Wewa (wee-waa) for short. I just came from there as my sister and grandmother live there. Sorry I'm not the one your looking for but thought I might help out on the name. Best of luck to you. Respectfully yours, Barry E. White..................... Sarasota, Fla.
