    2. Betty Van
    3. Faye, Thank you for sharing your latest on Steve Elliott's health. He certainly has been very helpful to me in my search for family history. Not only did he help me but he did it so cheerfully. And he made our local history come alive in his most interesting writings. My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with him..............Betty Vann > Dear Board, Steve Elliotts health was deterioating since I last heard from him. When I was in the area I went to visit hinm and he did not look to good. So, let's all keep him in our prayers. I really hope he ahs recovered or on the way to recovery, He is a good man! > > Faye >

    1. Wright, Benjamin and William
    2. I had previously posted (may require a research of the postings) on William Wright and his Wife Emily who appear on the 1860 Henry County census. In 1850 I found them in I believe Meriwether County, GA with their two daughters. In 1860 their daughters are married and live next to them. Today I found the following document in film from the LDS. For value received of Clayton B M and Amelia Wright we George Trimmal and his wife Elizabeth Trimmal heirs at law of Wm Wright Deceased hereby grant bargain sell and convey to said Clayton B M and Amelia Wright our entire interest or claims against the estate of Benjamin Wright Deceased hereby vesting in said Clayton B. M and Amelia Wright all the right and powers held by us under and by virture of the same this April 14, 1888. Witness George xhis mark Trimmal S. W. Glover (or Glenn) Elizabeth xher mark Trimmal I feel sure the date is 1888. Hopefully I may find other documents that will verify this. What was the connection between this Benjamin and William Wright (SR)? My gggrandfather was William Wright (JR?). I've suspected that the SR could be the father of the JR but have found no documentation. Jeanette

    1. James M & Laucy L. Kelly
    2. Seeking information on Laucy L Kelly. In the estate of Benjamin F. Byrd in 1876, they are listed as receiving $537.42 from the sale of property. Are they related to Benjamin and Edna Byrd? W. C. Oates was the Administrator handling the sale of properties to be distributed to Benjamin F. Byrd,s heirs. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Pat in FL

    1. James Henry Roland
    2. Seeking information on James Henry Roland and his sister Lizzie. They were listed in the Orphan records as being the minor heirs of Benjamin F. Byrd. They were part of is estate being awarded monies after the sale of some property. Their mother is listed as deceased. Who was their father and what was their mother,s name? I am assuming that she was the daughter of Benjamin F and Edna Byrd, living in Henry County, Franklin Township, Alabama. Would appreciated any and all information. Pat in FL

    1. Edna W. Sellers
    2. Seeking information on Edna W. Sellers, deceased by 1876 in Henry County. She had three known children: Mary G. E. Sellers, Sallie Sellers, Benjamin R. Sellers. These three children were the orphaned minors of Edna were listed as heirs of Benjamin F. Byrd. They were awarded $222.262/3 each from the sale of Benjamin,s property. W. C. Oates was appointed as administrator of these minor heirs. In 1870, Benjamin R Sellers is listed living with James and Margaret E. Morris. Margaret was first appointed as Administrator but resigned and W. C. Oates took over. Seeking information on Edna W. Sellers, Mary G, E, Sallie and Benjamin R. Sellers. Would appreciate any information. Pat in FL

    1. Thomas A Terry
    2. Thomas A. Terry was born in 1866 and lived near Benjamin F. Byrd. In 1875 or 1876, Thomas was appointed guardian to James Henry Roland, heir of Benjamin F. Byrd. James Henry was the child of Mollie. Was Mollie the daughter of Benjamin and Edna Byrd? Since James was an heir, I am assuming that this is true. James was awarded $333.36 as a minor from the sale of property owned by Benjamin. Seeking information on James Henry Roland. Also information on Mollie and Benjamin F. Byrd. W. C. Oates was appointed the administrator of the sale of property to award the money of Benjamin,s minor heirs after Margaret E. Morris resigned. Any information on these families would be greatly appreciated. Pat in FL

My grandfather was William Henry Harrison ,born 1856 in Rocky Creek Church area of now Houston Co,AL. His grandfather was Charles T.Harrison born ~1802 in SC. Charlie died intestate and a county commissioner named Wiley F.Harrison was appointed by the court to settle the estate. Wiley was from Stewart Co,GA and I don't know of any relationship. However,I find it somewhat strange that he had a son named Charles T. Harrison born in 1856 (in the same area as my ancestor) shortly after my ancestor of the same name died. I understand that Allen J.Harrison's father was a William also. So,I'm even more interested.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Mathews, Farrar Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YS.2ADI/2883 Message Board Post: Little Berry MATHEWS (1818-1886) moved to Abbeville, Henry Co, AL sometime in the late 1850s with his family. After his first wife Salina MARTIN died, he married Sarah Elizabeth FARRAR, 10 June 1860 in Abbeville. They appear on the 1860 census, with L.B. Mathews listed as a tavern keeper. I believe Sarah's parents to be Hardeway FARRAR and Sarah [?], who moved from Barbour Co AL to Abbeville in the 1850s and appear there on the 1860 census (Hardeway listed as a "Coach Trimmer"). Both families had moved elsewhere by 1870. I'm looking for any information about their time in Abbeville (circa 1855-1865).
