    1. Two MORE questions about Daniel WIGGINS
    2. Val McGinness
    3. Does anyone know WHEN Daniel WIGGINS died? Does anyone know if Daniel WIGGINS died before the Wiggins Church was built on his land or after. Was it the Wiggins Church in memory of him or in honor of him, while he was still living. I understand there was a log cabin there at one time. 1. Cureton's Bridge Post Office 1850 CURETON, WIGGINS, WOOD, WILLIS
    2. There is a website showing photos or historic markers of old post offices in Alabama. The post office at Cureton's Bridge ( located SW of Abbeville at the present day intersection of Alabama Highway 27 and Henry County Road 7) had as its first postmaster from 1850 to 1852 James Uriah CURETON (descendant of William Jackson CURETON). John A. WOOD was the next postmaster from 1852 to 1866. John WOOD was married to one of the CURETON girls (a sister of Uriah CURETON). Daniel A.WIGGINS was the next postmaster, from 1870 to 1880. Nancy WILLIS served as postmaster until 1907, and then the post office was moved to Capps Station. Mail carrier in early 1900s was Jackson RILEY. A photo can be viewed on the website. There are many postoffice pictures there in jpg format. They are in alphabetical order and show zip code if the post office still exists. Alabama Post Office Photos Web address is www.postmarks.org. I am a descendant of William Obadiah CURETON, W.O. CURETON, brother of James Uriah CURETON, both sons of William Jackson CURETON. W.O. CURETON settled in Nacogdoches County, Texas in the mid 1800s, when he was already an older man. submitted by: Cyndy Shreffler in Troy, Ohio. Cyndy Shreffler

    3. Someone on the list asked me, who the husband of Sarah Elizabeth HARDWICK was it was Leander RONEY. She was born in 1862 and died in 1921. Her brothers were Dr. William Pleasant HARDWICK, and Adam Joseph HARDWICK. Dr. HARDWICK married Anna Belle PRICE. They had Clark PRICE HARDWICK, Dr. Charles "Fred" HARDWICK, Max HARDWICK, and Leta DAILY of Macon Georgia. Anna PRICE and mother's great-grandmother Emma SOLOMON were sisters. I would like to know who the children of Leander and Sarah HARDWICK RONEY were. Le

    1. GRANBERRY, COLLINS and LANE
    2. Anyone know who the parents are of Joseph Carlos Lane who is buried in the Hebron Cemetery in Henry County. Also Jack Lane, shown on the 1910 census for Henry County, is Joseph Jackson Lane, son of Joseph Henry Lane, brother to my ggrandfather. In the 1910 census in the household with Jack Lane is Rosa Bell Granberry and she is listed as sister. I think this might be a census error. Is Rosa the sister to Barlow Granberry the family above Jack Lane on the census? Thank you for your help. Joseph Jackson Lane died on July 14, 1958 in Houston County, AL. He is buried in the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery in Henry County according to his death info. His mother was a Collins. I will attempt to answer questions if anyone has them on my Lanes of Henry and Dale County. Jeanette

    2. Cherry, My great grandmother was Rebecca Melindie "Ninnie" WHITEHEAD, daughter of Gracie ADAMS and William WHITEHEAD. Ninnie was born in 1891, Gracie in 1848 and William in 1854 (I think) all in Henry County. All three died in the Cottonwood area, which is now in Houston County. If this fits into your line, let me know. Whitehead is a VERY common name in this area I have found and my info on them is somewhat limited. However, I am willing to share what I do have if you need it.
