Dear List, I apologize for my error in allowing a message to go to the list that was intended as a personal note to my cousin. It was very careless of me. You can be sure that I'll try to be more careful in the future. I apologize to all of you who opened it thinking you'd be reading some interesting new information about your ancestors, and instead got zilch. Thank you for your understanding. Sincerely, Betty, with Very Red Face and Looking for a Hole to Crawl Through
Jeanette, I am so proud to be kin to you. You do have a brain for numbers and names and getting things in order! Sometimes I do, but not like you. And I don't keep good records like you do. I'm not organized, I regret to say.. Right now, I'm trying to clean up my kitchen. A pipe under my sink is leaking. Half the kitchen floor is covered with water, and of course, the bottom shelf of the cabinet is covered with water. I just had the drain pipe repaired a couple of months ago.........Got a call in to the plumber. If I don't hear from him soon I'll call another, more expensive one, I guess. I took a break to check my email because I wrote a feature story for the paper about a family dealing with the wife's mother's Alzheimer's disease. It's such a sensitive subject I want it to be absolutely correct. I wanted to see if the editor of the paper had written me back. She had, and it made me feel better . Guess I can go back to mopping, and wiping, etc............cousin betty > George W. Armstrong who you say died in the WBTS could not be the one that > married the Sudie L. George W. Armstrong who you say died in the WBTS could not be the one that married the Sudie L. Stephens Armstrong referred to in the cemetery listing. She wasn't born until 1881 and died in 1939. She married George W. Armstrong. More than likely the one you referred to as the son of Andrew Jackson Armstrong. I believe she is listed as Rena or Renie on a census with George Armstrong. She has to be Rena Lane. I just don't know which of my Lane ancestors is her father. Jeanette

Le, I my gr gr grandmother Nancy Kirkland Scott was also a child of Caleb and Sarah Kirkland. Do you have any info on W.E. Whiddon, who married a daughter of Nancy, Ethalinda Scott Whiddon? I seem to remember someone telling me that W.E. Whiddon either perfomed the ceremony or was a witness to the marriage of William S. Scott, Ethalinda's brother, to the young Nancy Kirkland (who later was married to Randolph Blackshear). I would like to know more about him. I have video of his and Ethalinda's headstone in Sholar cemetery in Shelby/Panola county Texas. Also, David Sholar married Eliza Scott , Ethalinda and William's sister in Henry County and came to Texas with John and Nancy and W.E. and Ethalinda. The website with pictures of Alabama post offices is www.postmarks.org. There are present day post offices and some historic markers for old post offices. The post offices are organized alphabetically. I found it by mistake, fooling around on the internet. Cyndy Shreffler

As far as I have been able to determine Daniel Wiggins mother was Mary Woodham. Have no idea just where Daniel H. Wiggins was born in NC but from what research I have done it appears to be Dobbs County. When I return home I will check my notes and get back to everyone.
