I am looking for a Brown (white) in Greene County that married Josephine Maryetta Harrison. Josephine (born 1848) is daughter of William Henry Harrison and Elizabeth Jane Higginbotham. Josephine and Mr. Brown were supposed to be married 28 Jun 1866 in Greene County but I cannot find proof of that. One source said his name was Joseph T. Brown. Mr. Brown would have been born around 1846 in Alabama. He was not with Josephine and their two children in the 1870 census in Boligee, Greene Co. Josephine moved on to Texas between 1870 and 1874 when she remarried Thomas Crutcher Smith there. She settled in Waco, McLennan County and died there in 1929. The only possibility I have found is Joshua T. Brown son of Joshua T. and Penelope Cook Brown who lived in the Eutaw and Clinton areas. Could anyone verify if this might be the Mr. Brown I am searching for (my husband's great-great-grandfather).
