    3. Wanda, My g-g-grandmother was Carolyn Avery who married Capt Jonathan Williams. They were from Greene/Hale Co. Carolyn's parents were Calvin R. Avery & Lucy Jane Brown, both from N.C. There was a daughter, Juan Avery, who married a Freeman. There was a daughter from this marriage but I have never been able to find anything less. Do you have any information about the Freeman who married Juan? The time frame would be in the 1840-1850 range maybe. Thanks! Debbie J. Joseph s my ancestor through the son Wilie or Wiley (who is mentioned in the probate apers). Robert as son of Joseph is confirmed by copies of land distribution ocuments of Joseph's estate which are in Robert's probate file, along with ther documents. I do not know who this Samuel Freeman is...would like to know if he is a elative and how. Bottom line... I am cleaning files. I do not need this file on Robert Freeman nd would be happy to mail it to the first person who sends confirmation of this s their family line. I do ask for postage as this is quite a large file. Don't have any idea yet about cost of mailing.)     3. Hello cousin! Debbie, this file contains the will of Joseph J. Freeman whose wife was Juan A. B. Avery. They married 8 Jan 1855. Children are named in the will: Lucy, P. Helen, and Jessie. Joseph died 17 Dec 1859. City directory 1856-7 gives Joseph J.'s occupation as teacher in Greensboro. Joseph J. Freeman was the son of Robert Freeman and Phebe Harris.
