Marilyn ________________________________ From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, April 15, 2014 3:26 PM Subject: [ALGREENE] Boligee Soloman/Solomon/Saloman families Hello, I am interested in where I might find records for families living in Boligee in the mid to late 1800s.  I have discovered that my husband's great great grandfather was a Jordan Soloman, who appears to have been born circa 1835 and is found living in Boligee in the 1870 and 1880 census records.  It appears that by 1880, Jordan Soloman, who was African American, owned his farm and had several sons.  There also appear to have been two other Soloman families who are perhaps related.  One is the family of a Primus Soloman and the other is the family of an Alfred Soloman, who was a blacksmith. Is there a Historical Society or county courthouse where early records for Boligee may be kept? Thanks so much!!     2. Thanks so much! My husband's father was actually from Tuscaloosa but came north for work when he was in his late 30s. He never returned to Alabama. We were very fortunate to find information from several people who are (and were) on the Tuscaloosa list, as my father in law rarely talked about his upbringing with his children. I am thrilled to find even more about the family as we chip away at some of the mysteries. It appears that members from this part of the family not only lived from time to time in Tuscaloosa, but also ended up Bibb Co.
