Citation & Analysis for the Family Historian" by Elizabeth Shown Mills for "proper citation format" for genealogy data. -----Original Message----- From: Lisa Coultrup [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, August 01, 2005 8:35 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [ALGREENE] List Activity Hi Well, in my University classes where I majored in Anthropology, we had to write enormous amounts of papers, and proper citation format ( depending on which is used, such MLA etc) is to always cite your sources. There are certain formats used by the various areas, I am not sure which is used in Genealogy, maybe a format such as used in Historical Sciences. I had a question though, what about the source? Whether there is a byline or not, shouldn't you write down the source as to where you received the information?
