I am not sure how others sites do the transcribing, The Orleans Parish website (New Orleans, LA area) had a group of us that we call NOVA (New Orleans Volunteer Association)....we are mailed lists by the Baton Rouge State Archives, type them up, email them to the site host and she posts them on the site. We have posted a HUGE amount of information. Maybe someone can get in touch with the Montgomery office and see if they would do the same thing? If you want to check out the stuff New Orleans has online: _Orleans Parish Archives_ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/la/orleans.htm) _http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/la/orleans.htm_ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/la/orleans.htm) We have births, deaths, Marriages, cemetery listings and pictures, obits and much more. All transcribed by volunteers. It's just getting us "excited" about finding new information and relations that keeps us typing away. It's wonderful to read the emails from people who thank the list for helping them find "that loose brick in their wall" just to make it come tumbling down. Lisa Cotten
