My Dunlaps are the other family in Greene County who came from Abbeville, James and Mary and their children, Joseph, Robert, Samuel Meriweather, John, James Riley, William, Sarah Roden, Mary Clinton Washington, and Eliza Bonnell Gordon Hall. I think the "other Dunlaps" came from NC. I haven't looked in a while but I think this was George or Samuel. So I think Alice and I want any information anyone has on any of the Dunlaps. I'm looking for information about all those Dunlap's who keep appearing in my research in Greene County. In particular I'd like to know the parentage of Samuel R. Dunlap (1840-1902) who married Martha Pink Alexander in 1879. What kin was he to the Samuel Dunlap who was an elder in the Presbyterian Church in about 1850? I do not think they were father and son, but I'm not sure about that at all. Thanks, Alice Campbell

None of the "residents" are living, but in case you didn't know, there's a Harris cemetery just a little north of Greensboro Alabama (formerly Greene County, now Hale, I think). Likely had something to do with your Harris line if they were of that area. Robert Jackson [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. Hi: It is my understanding that to get back to an earlier Harris, the test individual must be a Male Harris and must have a clear paper trail back through to that earlier Male Harris. Would these have to be Harris males or just male descendents of these Harris's? I think there may be some male descendents in Hale County of Page Harris. Jim: Your message to Anne caught my attention. I am particularly interested in some names you mentioned. My great-grandmother was born in Alabama and lived in Pickens County - adjacent to Greene County. Her name was Arazella Haseltine Ferguson. Her father was Euel (Ewell) Crawford Ferguson. I have searched for years trying to find a Ferguson family for him or him in the 1850 census. No luck. Larry Wilson **************Get the Moviefone Toolbar. I am looking for a Brown (white) in Greene County that married Josephine Maryetta Harrison. Josephine (born 1848) is daughter of William Henry Harrison and Elizabeth Jane Higginbotham. Josephine and Mr. Brown were supposed to be married 28 Jun 1866 in Greene County but I cannot find proof of that. One source said his name was Joseph T. Brown. Mr. Brown would have been born around 1846 in Alabama. He was not with Josephine and their two children in the 1870 census in Boligee, Greene Co. Josephine moved on to Texas between 1870 and 1874 when she remarried Thomas Crutcher Smith there. She settled in Waco, McLennan County and died there in 1929. The only possibility I have found is Joshua T. Brown son of Joshua T. and Penelope Cook Brown who lived in the Eutaw and Clinton areas. Could anyone verify if this might be the Mr. Brown I am searching for (my husband's great-great-grandfather).
