Hi All! I picked up the lastest "The Historical News" today and found the following information and thought it may be of interest to some. The new River Heritage Museum at the Claiborne Lock and Dam, Claiborne, AL Grand Opening will be July 24, 1999 beginning at 9 am. The Museum houses area fossils, Native American artifacts and steamboat exhibits. Doug Jones, PhD will talk with visotrs and identify fossils and Native American Artifacts. Pat Meyers will host a riverlife seminar and launch a replica steamboat; "Riverboat John" Ferguson will sing river songs; Jerry Daniel will sing blues; Blue Heron (Ferris Powell) will set up a Seminole Creek indian camp and give demostrations.
