    3. Hi All! Yesterday, I wrote to Leigh Compton, our sc and Linda Lewis, Archives Project Coordinator, giving them my resignation from the AL Archives. I will be staying on until a replacement can be found. However, I was contacted by another member of our community who had a suggestion and even offered his assistance. I would consider staying on as AL Archives File manager if I can get some help in converting and uploading files to the archives. One suggestion has been to ask if any of the cc's who have knowledge of ftp would be interested in uploading files to the archives in a timely manner for your respective counties. One of the problems I ran into when I first took over the Archives was that submitters were wary of contributing because their submssions were not posted in a timely manner. I would continue to maintain the Table of Contents (TOC) pages. The volunteer would recieve the files and convert if necesary and add the USGENWEB Notice and upload the files. Once the files are uploaded, then they would need to send me the name, file name, size, submitters name and email addy and url of the file. I will then add a link in the TOC pages to the file and post an AL ARCHIVE Update as I have been doing. If enough cc's are interested in working with me in the Archives, that would be great help and I would stay on as AL Archives File Manager. Or if three or four folks would be interested in splitting up the counties and taking on several that would also be a great help. I already have a volunteer for Madsion and Clarke Co. ....I don't know if it's okay to mention their name or not with out their consent so I won't at this time. Any takers out there??? Thanks a bunch!! Lygia Dawkins Cutts Cuttstree@Net1inc.net
