I suspect MANY of the CC's are not even monitering this list. I find the need to check up on the CC's somewhat offensive but on the other hand I wish GA would follow suit as I have one county where I posted a queiry 2 or 3 months ago that is still not posted. I wrote that CC and suggested politly that she check out GenConect and she respounded that she liked to have a more personal relansionship with her people. However she still has not posted the queiry (6 wks +)and she maintains many counties. I personally recommend GenConnect highly as a queiry management source. Hi all I was thinking about some of the suggestions for improving county pages and realized that even though I am a map nut I had no info on where to buy maps on my pages. I realized the same sources would apply to many or all counties and went to the state map page where I realized I have several sources that could be added. Hi all, I have the page for Chilton Co.,AL The post from Beth Will's gave me several things to think about. I don't have good info on the courthouse hours or good info on the historical society. I have not been able to get a response from the later and will get the info on the courthouse up soon. I do have info on books that pertain to the county and how to contact the local library to purchase those available. I also have books listed that I know of available at the Birmingham Library. I am working on a page for the various films available at the ADAH and will be expanding it for the film available from the LDS as well as other sources. I intend to expand that to surrounding counties. I have volunteered to transcribe the 1880 census but I understand the LDS has a cd rom coming out soon with it so I might work on the 1900,1910 and 1920 first. I have not had much success with getting volunteers to post any transcriptions, abstracts,bibles,obits,bios, etc. but have had several volunteer to work on the census's and a couple of others volunteering do do lookup's on books they own. I think if I can pull myself away from my GA research which has finally started to pay off I can get a small group of dedicated people to help and hopefully get more to participate.
