If anyone has any additional information regarding the Teskey's (Hardress (B) about 1817, , , Anne Alfred (B) about 1821) or a possible Anne & Joseph Alfred in Paris, Ontario, Canada in 1850 or later. As I understand (from family Stories) Richard (the teenager listed above) lost his father and his mother encouraged him to enter an occupation Richard didn't want to persue. My brother had a lOT of information on the Kirkland side and my cousins had a lot on the Enloe side. My Mother is the daughter of Dr. Gillespie Enloe and Elizabeth (Bessie) Alfred Enloe. Bessie's father is the Richard Alfred who's records take us to Paris, Brant County, Ontario Canada. According to family stories he ran away from Paris Ontario and ended up in Brooklyn NY. I'm determined to find out his history from NY to Canada, , , and perhaps to Adare, Limerick, Ireland. I looked at the Canadian GenWeb site. It is a good one and no Alfred's showed up there. I may persue it by contacting one of the "Helpers" who live in the area. I am possibly going there next Summer, , ,expecially if I can get some good information prior to the visit!! The lady I've been communicating with in this thread is a direct decendant of the Jean (or Jane) Alfred who married a John Henderson. What is your linage?? There were a lot of Alfred's in Paris Ontario in the mid 1800's. I kinda think they were related in some way. I'd like to establish that link and maybe it will solve some of those mysteries that exist. I may be going to Ontario in mid Summer 2012 to look around.
