Hello, Our little Fayette Co. AL list recently has grown to 194 members! We've been pretty quiet recently, but now is the time to post your surnames and queries to see if any of our new members happen to be researching the same surnames. I have high hopes that one of you is researching the NATHAN THOMPSON family. He was born in NC ca. 1775. In 1794, Jefferson Co. TN, he married ELIZABETH WEAVER, b. 1775 PA. They made their home in Hawkins Co. TN until ca. 1818 when they moved to the Fayette/Tuscaloosa/Marion Co. area along with STEWART, LANE/LAINE, DODSON and NORTHCUT(T) families. One of Nathan and Elizabeth's sons, WILLIAM THOMPSON, is enumerated in the 1880 Lamar Co. census. Two of their daughters, SUSANNAH and ELIZABETH "Betsy" THOMPSON, married brothers JOHN TILDEN MUSGROVE and WILLIAM L. MUSGROVE. The MUSGROVEs made their home in Fayette Co.
