I am attempting to ascertain the identity of the Jeremiah FOSTER who is listed on BLM land Patent Records for Fayette and Lamar Counties, Alabama. This Jeremiah purchased land in Lamar County in 1839 and 1848. In 1839 the land patent records say he was from Lowndes County, Mississippi. He may also be the same Jeremiah FOSTER from Monore County, MS who purchased land in Alabama in 1824. By 1848 he is going by the name Jeremiah FOSTER, Senior, thus indicating that there was a junior. Does anyone know anything more about this man? I am interested in learning if he was born in Tennessee prior to moving to Alabama. I am also interested in learning if he was a Primiitive Baptist since the Jeremiah FOSTER I am hunting had a father who was a Baptist minister active near Goodsprings, Alabama in 1826.
