We are also looking for an unknown SOUTH in Fayette Co., AL. But the one for whom we are looking was still alive about 1880. By family legend Sarahann Adaline (AUTREY) ROWLAND married such a man. Sarahann's first husband, Hiram M. ROWLAND, died 11/02/1862 somewhere in the hills of Eastern TN--Civil War. By legend, her son Thadeus Murphy ROWLAND left home so that his mother would remarry and have a life again. Thadeus married Amanda Margaret LANGSTON (daughter of John B. "Johnny" LANGSTON and Phebe Jane McCLUNG) on 12/23/1880 in Fayette County--hence we are looking for a SOUTH/ROWLAND marriage after 1880. Our SOUTH information is limited to the following: John Marion SOUTH, b. 1855 married 10/16/1870 in Fayette County (at the home of Elbert AUTREY/AWTREY--the bride's father.) Missouri Ann AUTREY, . 1841 Two sons of John and Missouri were Elijah, b. 1872 and Carlis, b. 1879 Don't know who the parents of John Marion were. Jesse Jariet "Jessey" LANGSTON, 1855-1913 (son of John B. "Johnny" LANGSTON and Phebe Jane McCLUNG) married on 7/13/1876 in Fayette at the home of E. W. SOUTH (don't know who E. W. South was) Jerusha Ann SOUTH, 1855-1931, daughter of Asbury SOUTH and Rebecca STEWART.
