I am searching for info on Matthew Davis, born abt 1835, in Fayette co. (His father was also a Matthew Davis from Fayette co.) The son married first before the Civil War. The wife died during Civil War, and children (one named Ella) were "farmed" out.He served in North Carolin during war, but made his way, along with children and second wife to Birmingham area where he died abt 1870.
