I am looking for information on Nancy RAINWATER, widow of the Rev. Miles Rainwater. Nancy, along with several of her children, migrated to Fayette County from Spartanburg, SC, after the death of her husband in 1826. She is listed on the Fayette County 1860 census living with her son Silas Mercer Rainwater. I am searching for where she might be buried. Some of her children are buried in Wesley Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery; I suspect that she would be buried in a Baptist Church Cemetery, as her husband was a Baptist minister. Any help will be appreciated. Other lines I am researching which have links to Fayette County are Crossley, Atkins, and Franks. Thanks, Paula McCaulla BCTone@aol.com

The Duke, Jones, and Foster families came from SC, moving into Lowndes Co., MS and Fayette Co., AL before 1835. By 1855, most of the families had moved to Chickasaw Co., MS. Moses Duke + Nancy Burge Richard Duke + Martha Unknown Bartlett S. Duke + Sarah Foster Burrell B. Duke + (1) Sarah Ann Tunnell (2) Rebecca Jones Martin H. Duke + Mary M. Jones Sarah K. Duke + Elisha Boucher Elizabeth Duke + Thomas L. Foster I recently found a Mary Jones on the 1850 US Census for Division 16, Fayette Co., AL, household #489 Mary Jones, female, age 46 Blewford Jones, m, 21 (likely Bluford) Orptha Jones, m, 13 Mary Jones, f, 6 I believe this Mary Jones was the mother of Rebecca, second wife of Burrell Duke, and Mary, wife of Martain Duke. Anyone connect to this Jones famly? Tony Cox Coweta, OK -- Check our webpage, http://home.att.net/~ztlcox/
