    1. [ALFAYETT] Wesley Chapel Cemetery
    2. I am in the process of combining two cemetery lists of the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Fayette County. One list was made by Herbert & Jeanie Newell Aug 7-8, 1958. The other list is part of a book of the entire history of Wesley Chapel Cemetery that was compiled by Gladys Gilreath Brown in 1983-84. I would like to make this an ongoing project and provide updates periodically. Could someone out there provide me with the person or organization that would have all of the records of the Wesley Chapel Cemetery since the last of these lists was published? I thank you for your interest in this matter. Ted Edwards 2760 W. Retread Rd. Pahrump, NV 89048-4437 775 727-1996 tebear0001@aol.com

    1. [ALFAYETT] Re:WIMBERLY, KIRKLEY, REESE
    2. Dear Ruth, Texas A. (Wimberly) KIRKLEY, 1876-1956, and William M. KIRKLEY, 1868-1936, are buried at Bethel Church Cemetery, Bluff Community, Fayette Co., AL. I know nothing of the REESE family other than Texas and William were married in the home of Fayette REESE, 22 December,1889, Fayette Co., AL, Book "A", Page 588. I married into the HOULDITCH family in 1964. My then bride was Reata HOULDITCH d/o Glen Vance HOULDITCH and Delta Ree KIRKLEY. Delta Ree was the d/o Marion Jackson KIRKLEY, (1864-1944) and Eliza Jane HAWKINS, (1880-1965). Marion J. and Wm. M. KIRKLEY were brothers. Eliza Jane was d/o Daniel Burgess HAWKINS (1859- 1950) and Minta Ann NORTHAM, (1862-1934). Minta Ann was d/o Ben NORTHAM. The NORTHAMS owned property at or near Bethel Church and were some of the original members. The church is located two miles west of Luxapallila Creek (River). Two miles east of this creek, my family, REYNOLDS, MARSHALLS, etc. owned property. My gggrandfather Levi MARSHALL, (1825-1898) married Lucinda B. REYNOLDS, (1827-1900). Lucinda was d/o Alva Morgan REYNOLDS, 1802-1864), and Matilda BREWER, (1805-?). Alva and Matilda had a daughter, Dorcas Tabitha REYNOLDS that married Lewis Monroe WIMBERLY. Lewis was an officer in the CSA and served with Co. "I", 26th Alabama Infantry Regiment, during the WBTS. He was wounded, discharged and received a pension from the state of AL. The pension was applied for from Lamar Co., AL. Lewis was the s/o Thomas WIMBERLY. Texas might be a member of this family. Lewis Monroe WIMBERLY and A.M.REYNOLDS were both pastors and preached at many of the local chuches during the 1800's, including Bethel Church.
