    3. NANCY MUSSY SMITH died in Fayette County Alabama about 1855. I understand that she was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Does this church have a cemetery? I would very much like to locate the grave of Nancy Mussy Smith. Any help will be grately appreciated.

    3. Dear All, Excuse any repeats of this letter. I am one unhappy camper at the moment. I've been the unwilling victim of a browser problem since Thurs. eve. The good news: after multiple uninstalls and reinstalls of Netscape I now have a working browser. The bad news: the 3,500+ messages that I had saved are now lost and not to be found. Even Moses couldn't help now with this mess. So, please send me your e-mail -- my address file is toast. If I was going to send you something -- remind me about what it is & I'll see if I still have it and can forward it along. If we were slowing working on family lines -- remind me of the family etc. The moral: even if you personally ensure that you always practice safe computer techniques, train, remind, and threaten if necessary, anyone else with access to your computer of the critical necessity of NEVER downloading and executing files with careful evaluation and screening for virus/worm problems. 3. Hi, My 2Gr-Grandparents, James Franklin & Adaline Hatch FOSTER were married in Cass Co GA in 1843, by 1860 they were in Floyd Co GA. I have been told by many researchers that one or both of these died in Fayette Co AL, probably in the 1870's or later. I am interested in any descendant of James and Adaline. I am told they had 10 children but I have only found 6. Three of these children migrated to southern Arkansas starting in 1869. I have descendency info on tghe three that came to AR and will happily share what I have. Thanks for any crumb of information. Gary Hawley Hot Springs, Ar

    3. Dear Fred and all: I also remember seeing a very old book in the probate vault of recorded deaths, and maybe births for an early period, maybe before the births were kept in Montgomery. It's been so long since I've been over there that I cannot accurately tell you what date that was, but maybe someone who lives there (Fred?) might could call for you and post to this list. I've only seen that kind of book in one other county-Pickens. Good luck, Sabra

    3. Hello Carol, I think it was 1908-1912 when they started keeping death records. You can find them in Herb & Jeanie Newell's Fayette County cemetery records if your ancester put up a readable tombstone in 1898. You can find them in wills, if they left a will, at the court house. I have the cemetery listings by Newells. Luck. 3. Searching for information on Asa Thompson b. abt 1808 GA married Elizabeth ? b. abt 1818 GA. Children on the 1860 Tuscaloosa Co. census are: Embrosia, Mary, George, Jane, Annie, Fannie, Ellen, Joanna, Robert, and John. I believe that Joanna is my great grandmother who married Dock Samuel Willingham Jan. 4, 1870 in Fayette Co. at the home of Asa Thompson. I have found a marriage record for Fannie/Frances who married William H. Kimbrell Feb. 22, 1877 at the home of Asa Thompson. Asa and Elizabeth are buried in Hopewell/Heggard Cemetery in Fayette Co. AL. Any information or leads will be greatly appreciated. Will be happy to share any Willingham information! Thank you.
