    3. I have the Old Union Primitive Baptist Cemetery record on Computer that was done about 6 years ago. This would be a bit later than Mr. Newell's record in his book. Would be willing to share this one Fayette County cemetery record if anyone wants it. I also have the Hollingsworth cemetery at Ford's Mountain that Mr. Newell missed. I think the loggers tore that cemetery up last year. Not sure. 2. I have learned that my Gr-Gr-Gr- Grandfather William P. Pulliam is buried in the Zion Church yard Cemetery in Fayette Co AL. He died June 11, 1863. Any chance there is a headstone? His wife Nancy Ann Rice was still alive in 1880. Is there a chance she is buried there also. Thanks so much for any help you could give me. Bill Bentley

    3. Thanks Larry. I'm quickly learning more about this virus. One subscriber was kind enough to give me a detailed message about how it works, which was very helpful. However, I should tell you that before sending my message to my lists, I checked his address. He is not a subscriber, but sent the attachment to the Thompson list. I hate to send another message about this to the list, but I guess I need to let people know I checked his address against my subscribers list before posting the message. I surely hope I haven't falsely accused someone of mischief! Thanks again, Monya >Monya: >Don't be to quick to convict. 3. Dear Listmembers, Please be advised that <johncj@pop.goodnet.com> is purposely sending the Happy99.exe virus/worm to RootsWeb lists. There is no message or query, only the Happy99.exe attachment. So far, it has only come to me as a listowner because RootsWeb was able to block the e-mail as suspected spam with an attachment. However, it would be a good idea to be on the alert and use extra care before opening any attachments. I discarded the Happy99.exe attachment without opening it, so you need not fear that I'm passing it on to you. Also, it's a DOS document and I'm on a MAC. I've reported this to the proper authorities. Best regards, Monya Fayette Co. 1. [ALFAYETT-L] Jeremiah FOSTER, 1830s-1850s
    2. Bob Foster
    3. I am attempting to ascertain the identity of the Jeremiah FOSTER who is listed on BLM land Patent Records for Fayette and Lamar Counties, Alabama. This Jeremiah purchased land in Lamar County in 1839 and 1848. In 1839 the land patent records say he was from Lowndes County, Mississippi. He may also be the same Jeremiah FOSTER from Monore County, MS who purchased land in Alabama in 1824. By 1848 he is going by the name Jeremiah FOSTER, Senior, thus indicating that there was a junior. Does anyone know anything more about this man? I am interested in learning if he was born in Tennessee prior to moving to Alabama. I am also interested in learning if he was a Primiitive Baptist since the Jeremiah FOSTER I am hunting had a father who was a Baptist minister active near Goodsprings, Alabama in 1826. Thanks for any help. Bob Foster

    1. [ALFAYETT-L] Nancy R. Pulliam
    2. Nancy R. Pulliam filed for pension benefits for her deceased husband in 1880 from Fayette Co. for his service in the war of 1812. Her husband was William P. Pulliam. Could someone help me get a copy or tell me how to get it, I know there is one because I have seen a second, or fifth hand copy. It was a very poor copy. I would like to get one from Fayette. Thanks in advance for your help. Bill Bentley

    1. [ALFAYETT-L] Land Deals
    2. My Pulliams, Wm.P., Nicholas, and John each bought 120 acres in Fayette Co AL on June 1, 1858. John bought 119.545 and Wm and Nicholas bought approx. 40 and 80 each. Could someone share with me WHY. Was the land cheap? Was it actually given to them for military service? Any guesses why these families uprooted from Franklin Co TN and moved to Fayette Co. together? Actually the Father seems to have moved to Fayette first. He acquired land in Fayette Co on June 1, 1856. However, a later census says Nicholas had a son, James B- in AL in 1847. I think the earliest that any Pulliams moved into AL was David Pulliam into St.Clair Co. on April 10,1827 and a John Pulliam acquired land Oct. 1,1834 in Pickens Co. I have no idea that these are all related though. However the bunch that moved in 1858 arte either three brothers or Father and two sons, which is what I believe to be true.. I know, I have lots of QUESTIONS and not enough answers. Help. Bill Bentley
