For a period of time they lived in PA and moved to Jackson Co., IA in 1838. In the 1840 Census they were in Dubuque Co., IA. Alexander and Elizabeth had seven children - Ann married John Maclay; Marian married Thomas Millsap; James Alexander b 1827 Scotland; Elizabeth b 1828 Scotland married William Uriah Burns, William Alexander b 1834 PA and married Catherine Schollian; Charles b. Abt 1838 PA; Margaret Elizabeth Alexander b 8 Nov 1838 Dubuque, IA and died Aug 1919 Marion Co., IA. Margaret married Daniel Wagoner Jackson Co., IA. Bev, I am sorry but I have no information on any of these people. It may help you to consider finding a male Alexander to take a yDNA test, and thus be able to compare to the other Alexander testers in the hope of finding a match. In corresponding with those match(es), you can share information. This approach is often more productive when you have reached the end of your paper trail in the conventional fashion.
