Author: hemigrl64 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.alexander/6175/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The following is an article/obit for my grandfather's adopted mother. Can anyone make any connections to the William B. Alexander mentioned? I do know that William was born in 1860 in Scotland and died Feb. 28, 1928. He was survived by Brothers John, Andrew, and Adam. Also by sisters Agnes Snedden, Margaret Brinkley, and Jennie Hughes. At his death he had 5 surviving children, William Alexander, Mrs. Thomas Allen, Mrs. Edward Davis, Mrs. Elizabeth Geiger, and James Creston Alexander( My paternal Grandfather, suposedly adopted). We think that William was really the father of james but that Janet Gray Alexander was not his mother. Any replies would be very welcome. >From the Johnstown Tribune, Jan. 2,1918: Ehrenfield, Jan. 2 Mrs. Janet Gray Alexander, aged 52, wife of the well-known superintendant of the Penn. The deceased was born in Scotland and came to this country when she was 2 yrs. old with her parents. She is survived by her mother Mrs. Robert Gray of Uniontown. Services will be at the home at 2 O'clock. Internment will be made in the Summerhill Cemetery. Thanks, Lynn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
