My Great great grandfather, Ernest was the son of Henry Brunton born 1831 in East Dereham. Henry and James (James Henry's father) are brothers. Henry and James were the sons of Hannah Cranmer (b. 1792 in Scarning) and Benjamin Brunton (b. approx 1800). They married 14/11/1820. Benjamin died in 1837 and Hannah died in 1874. If you have any information about Benjamin, Hannah, Henry or Ernest I would love to hear about it. I was in Dereham a month or so ago researching this and had difficulty in finding anything out. Henry was a butcher in the High Street and Ernest moved to Surrey as a young man where he settled in Caterham, where my Great grandfather and then my grandmother were all born.
